Mackenzie started playing basketball in the first grade.  She played three years of varsity basketball at Evergreen Junior High, winning the MVP Award her 9th grade year.  Mackenzie just completed her second season as a junior on Redmond High School's Varsity Basketball Team.  She was named 2003-2004 Eastside Girl's Player of the Year, and she was named to the 2003-2004 All Kingco First Team.  Mackenzie led the top league in the state of Washington (Kingco) in assists at 7.4.  She was named State Athlete of the week in the Seattle Times.  Mackenzie was named Rotary Student of the month for the month of May.  Mackenzie also led her Redmond team in points at 14.5 and steals at 3.6.  She has incredible court vision, and can pass the ball 80 feet up the court on a dime.  She was awarded the Coach's Award at the end of her sophomore season. Mackenzie was named to the All-Tournament Team in the 2003 and 2004 Oregon City High School Tournaments, twice at the Little Oregon City Tournament, and in the 2004 End Of The Oregon Trail Tournament.  She was named Top Offensive Player at the Quick Handle Camp.
