Katie helped lead her Seattle Prep team to their first ever State Championship this season.  Last year, her team won the 2001 Metro league title and finished 5th in state.  This year, the Panthers won the 2002 Metro league title, placed 2nd in the districts, and were the 2002 State Champs (AAA).  After the state semifinal game against Rainier Beach, the Seattle Times named Katie "Player of the Day".  She also made the All-State 2nd team by the Tacoma Tribune.  Katie maintains a 3.6 GPA.  Quick and agile for a young 6'1" player, she has made the rejected shot a trademark of her strong defense.
