Mia has been a multi-sport athlete since she was a very young girl.  She has participated in soccer, basketball, softball and volleyball for the last 11 years.  She started playing AAU basketball in the 5th grade and has since competed year round in the sport.  During her freshman year at Bishop Blanchet she made the varsity letter as a starter in softball.  In basketball she was a team leader in points scored and assists.  As a sophomore Mia earned a spot as a varsity player on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams.  She helped her teams advance through the highly competitive Metro League of Seattle, and on to district playoffs.  Both the volleyball and basketball teams advanced to the state tournaments and placed 5th out of 16 teams.  Her Bishop Blanchet softball team also won the Metro championship.  Mia is a very versatile and smart player who can succeed at the 1, 2, or 3 position.  For the '03-'04 Blanchet basketball season she was a team leader in assists and was acknowledged for her leadership on and off the court.  She has been named captain for the 2004-2005 season, as a junior.  Mia maintains a 3.4 grade point average and has earned second honors the last two years.  She has been chosen by the school to be a mentor for incoming freshman students in the 2004-2005 school year.  Mia hopes to become a high school teacher, counselor and a coach.
